What the exam covers

Weightings are Microsoft’s. The skills outline was substantially revised on 24 July 2026 – the exam is now titled “Managing and Securing Microsoft 365 Endpoints by using Intune”.

1. Prepare infrastructure for devices 20–25% of the exam

   Entra join and registration, Intune enrolment for every platform, and identity and compliance: roles and scope tags, compliance policies with Conditional Access, Windows Hello for Business and Windows LAPS.

2. Manage and maintain devices 25–30% of the exam

   Windows Autopilot, Windows 11 upgrades, Windows 365 Cloud PCs, configuration profiles for every platform, Intune Suite capabilities, and remote actions.

3. Protect devices 15–20% of the exam

   Antivirus, BitLocker, firewall and attack surface reduction policies, security baselines, Defender for Endpoint integration, App Control, and update management including Autopatch.

4. Manage and secure applications 15–20% of the exam

   Deploying Win32, line-of-business, Store and Microsoft 365 apps, and app protection and configuration policies for managed and BYOD devices.

5. Optimise endpoint operations 10–15% of the exam

   Automation with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph, Security Copilot agents in Intune, Endpoint Analytics, proactive remediation and service health.

About the exam

• You need a score of 700 or more to pass.
• Microsoft offers a free practice assessment and an exam sandbox for most exams – use both before you book.
• The exam fee is not included. It is paid to Microsoft when you book.
• Associate and Expert certifications are valid for a year. You renew them free of charge with an online assessment on Microsoft Learn.
