Implement information protection 30–35% of the exam
Sensitive information types, fingerprinting, exact data match and trainable classifiers; sensitivity labels for items and containers, with auto-labelling; the Information Protection client and scanner; and message encryption.

Implement data loss prevention and retention 30–35% of the exam
Designing DLP policies and their precedence, Adaptive Protection, Endpoint DLP, and retention labels, policies and adaptive scopes – including recovering retained content.

Manage risks, alerts and activities 30–35% of the exam
Insider Risk Management end to end, Purview Audit and Activity explorer, responding to DLP and Purview alerts in Defender XDR, eDiscovery searches, and protecting data used by AI with DSPM for AI.

- You need a score of 700 or more to pass.
- Microsoft offers a free practice assessment and an exam sandbox for most exams – use both before you book.

- Associate and Expert certifications are valid for a year. You renew them free of charge with an online assessment on Microsoft Learn.
